Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how Guild Rally ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use our mobile application ("App") and website.
We follow these principles:
- We don't ask for personal information unless we truly need it.
- We don't share your personal information except to operate the app, comply with the law, or protect our rights.
- We don't sell your data to third parties or use it for advertising.
1. Information We Collect
Directly from you
- Account information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and chosen username. We may collect this information through third-party authentication services (Apple Sign-In, Google Sign-In).
- Profile information: Display name, avatar emoji or uploaded profile image, and any other profile details you choose to provide.
- Content you create: Guild names, descriptions, quest details, discussion posts, poll responses, and any other content you post inside the app.
- Location text: If you create a guild with a city or use the Explore feature to search by location, that location text is stored. We do not collect your device's GPS location.
Automatically when you use the App
- Usage data: Guild membership, quest RSVPs, attendance records, XP events, streak data, and in-app activity used to power features like leaderboards and rankings.
- Device information: Push notification tokens (via Expo Push Notification service) to deliver notifications to your device. We collect your device platform (iOS/Android) for this purpose.
- Images: If you upload a guild banner image or custom avatar image, the image file is stored in our cloud storage.
From third-party sources
- Authentication providers: If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your email address and basic profile information as authorized by you through those services. Visit Apple's or Google's privacy policies for details on how they handle your data.

3. Data Sharing and Third-Party Services
Your information is shared only in these limited ways:
- Other guild members: Your username, avatar, and quest/attendance activity is visible to members of guilds you join.
- Public guilds: If you create or join a public guild, the guild name, description, and city are visible to all app users via the Explore screen.
- Service providers: We use third-party services for cloud hosting, database, authentication, file storage, push notification delivery, and payment processing. Each provider's own privacy policy applies to the data they process on our behalf.
